Barf-Ex was an invention developed in the KND Deep Sea Science Lab brought to be showcased at the Kids Next Door 2x4 Technology Convention, presented by Numbuh 71.562. The scientists had already discontinued the production of Barf-Ex prior to the 2x4 Tech Convention, but did not have enough time to create something else to show the judges.[1]
This invention was never shown in the episode, only planned before production.
Description
It would cause the user incredible stomach pains and to puke uncontrollably. Barf-Ex was described to be an enormous blue pill with nails, screws and mushrooms sticking out of it.[1]
Warnings
"People who need to breath should not use Barf-Ex. Side effects include uncontrollable vomiting, internal organ failure, unbelievable pain, blindness, extended hospitalization, and near death experiences.”.[1]
Commercial
The commercial made for this product starts out with a boy (Ricky) who wanted to get out of a spelling test, a boy (Carl) who wanted to show his dad that Lima beans will make him puke, and a girl (Diane) who wanted to get out of school without getting beat up by Jamie Fatanzaro. Ricky and Carl are then told about Barf-Ex from their sector leader, and Diane from a friend. The disgusting pill is then shown with the announcer telling about its development and effect. The three kids then tell of their experiences with Barf-Ex: Ricky started puking uncontrollably and thought he was dying, Diane experienced extreme stomach pains and would have preferred the beating from Jamie, and Carl was hospitalized for 17 weeks. The warnings are then shown at incredible speed across the screen.[1]
Reaction
The judges hated the idea, with Numbuh 2x4 bellowing that they have to stop making that stuff.

- This was one of the proposed inventions to be shown in the episode Operation: S.C.I.E.N.C.E., but was cut out for being too gross.[1]
